Something for Every Body
Beginner, intermediate, advanced and speciality level classes.
Never unrolled a yoga mat before? Have no idea what the difference is between down dog and warrior 1? Yoga 1, our beginner level yoga, class is where you start!!! The focus of this class is to create a strong foundation and understanding of the poses (including alignment, prop use, and modifications), as well as how to use your breath to enhance your yoga practice. We recommend 8-10 Yoga 1 classes before moving onto Yoga 2.
Please note: this class is for mobile, healthy individuals who are able to get up and down from the floor with relative ease.
Participants in our intermediate-level class, Yoga 2, will build on the foundation of yogic breathing and proper pose alignment while learning how to link poses and make safe transitions. We will focus on increasing strength, improving flexibility, and developing endurance in our Yoga 2 class. Yogic philosophy and mindfulness may be woven into class themes. Participants should have some yoga experience and a basics understanding of the poses.
Yoga 3 is designed for the experienced yoga practitioner. This class will begin with centering and pranayama (breathing techniques), move onto sun salutations, flow through a variety of standing, balancing, and twisting asana (poses), increase flexibility with several seated or reclined poses, and settle into savasana (final relaxation). Options for arm balances, back bending asana, and inversions may be offered. Yoga 3 will enable you to develop strength, balance, endurance, and flexibility, while promoting peace, safety, and mindfulness.
This class begins with a centering meditation, a gentle warm-up, and then a few standing poses designed to increase warmth in the muscles. Participants will spend the remainder of the class in restorative postures, using blankets, bolsters, straps, and blocks to completely support the body, let go of muscular tension, and relax the mind and nervous system. Restorative Yoga is appropriate for all levels, including those new to yoga or recovering from injury or illness.
Expecting a bundle of joy? Our Prenatal Yoga class provides guidance and support during this special time. Participants will begin with breath work to bring focus to the body and mind, then, enjoy gentle strength building postures and stretches to prepare the body for the birth process. No previous yoga experience needed.
Please have your doctor’s approval before beginning any exercise program. We recommend that you are a minimum of 12 weeks into your pregnancy before beginning our Prenatal Yoga class.
